Noah (Nooh)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
We sent Noah to his People (with the Command): "Do thou warn thy People before there comes to them a grievous Penalty." 1 He said: O my people! verily I am unto you a warner manifest. 2 "That you should worship Allah (Alone), be dutiful to Him, and obey me, 3 He will forgive your sins and give you a respite for an appointed time. When the time which God has appointed arrives, none will be able to postpone it. Would that you knew this!" 4 He said: My Lord! Lo! I have called unto my people night and day 5 but my pleas have only increased their aversion. 6 Each time I called them so that You might forgive them, they thrust their fingers in their ears and wrapped themselves in their garments, and persisted becoming very proud. 7 Then surely I called to them aloud: 8 And lo! I have made public proclamation unto them, and I have appealed to them in private. 9 "Saying, 'Ask forgiveness from your Lord; for He is Oft-Forgiving; 10 He will send down upon you the cloud, pouring down abundance of rain: 11 and will succour you with wealth and sons, and will appoint for you gardens, and will appoint for you rivers. 12 What is the matter with you that you fear not the greatness of Allah? 13 Knowing that He has created you by various stages? 14 "'See ye not how Allah has created the seven heavens one above another, 15 setting in them the moon as a light and the sun as a lantern? 16 And God caused you to grow out of the earth, 17 And thereafter He will cause you to return thereinto, and He will bring you forth a forthbringing. 18 Allah has made the earth a wide expanse for you 19 That you may go along therein in wide paths. 20
