A multitude from the ancients. 39 and also a large throng from those of later times. 40 The Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 41 In hot wind and boiling water, 42 Under the shadow of thick black smoke 43 Neither cool nor beneficial. 44 Before they lived at ease, 45 And they have been persisting in the heinous offence. 46 ever saying, 'What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be raised up? 47 And also our forefathers? 48 Proclaim, “Without doubt all the former and the latter.” 49 will be brought together for an appointment on an appointed day. 50 Then you, the erring and the deniers, 51 Shall surely eat of the tree of Az-Zqqum. 52 And filling with it your bellies 53 Then drink over it of boiling water; 54 "So you will drink (that) like thirsty camels!" 55 That is their accommodation on the Day of Recompense. 56 We created you. Will ye then admit the truth? 57 Have you seen that which you emit? 58 Do ye create it or are We the Creator? 59 We have incorporated death in your constitution, and We shall not be hindered 60 from replacing you by others like yourselves or changing your forms and re-creating you in forms that you know nothing of. 61 You have surely known of the first creation. Why then, will you not remember! 62 Have you considered what you sow? 63 Is it you that make it grow, or are We the Grower? 64 If We so wished, We could have reduced your harvest to rubble, and you would have been left wonder-struck to exclaim: 65 'We are debt-loaded; 66 Surely, we have been deprived (of the benefits)". 67 Have you considered the water which you drink? 68 Is it you who brought it down from the clouds, or is it We who bring it down? 69 Did We will, We would make it bitter; so why are you not thankful? 70 Have you ever considered the fire which you kindle? 71 Is it you who have produced its tree or is it We who have produced it? 72 We have made it as a reminder of hell and as a utility for travellers in the jungle. 73 Glorify, then, (O Prophet), the name of your Great Lord. 74

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
