The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Compassionate, the Merciful
۞ When the Event (the resurrection) comes 1 Then will no (soul) entertain falsehood concerning its coming. 2 abasing [some,] exalting [others]! 3 When the earth shall be shaken to its depths, 4 and the mountains crumbled 5 Becoming dust scattered abroad, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 Those on the Left -- how unlucky are those on the Left! 9 The third to the fore shall be the foremost. 10 They shall be near-stationed (to their Lord), 11 In gardens of delight; 12 A [large] company of the former peoples 13 and how few of the later folk) 14 On lined couches, 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 Round about them shall go youths never altering in age, 17 with goblets and ewers and a cup filled with a drink drawn from a running spring, 18 a drink by which their minds will not be clouded nor will it cause drunkenness; 19 And fruits that they may like. 20 And the flesh of fowls that they desire. 21 and fair maidens with large, lustrous eyes 22 Like unto Pearls well-guarded. 23 A Reward for the deeds of their past (life). 24 They will not hear therein ill speech or commission of sin - 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 And the fellows on the right hand; how be happy shall the fellows on the right hand be! 27 Among thorn-less lote-trees. 28 And clustered plantains, 29 and continuous shade, 30 and gushing water, 31 and fruits abounding 32 Unending, unforbidden, 33 and raised couches 34 Indeed, We have produced the women of Paradise in a [new] creation 35 And made them virgin - pure (and undefiled), - 36 loving companions, matching in age, 37 For the fellows on the right hand. 38
