The Cheaters (Al-Mutaffifeen)
In the Name of Allah, the Merciful, the Most Merciful
Woe to those who give less [than due], 1 those who, when they take from others by measure, take their full share; 2 But when they have to give by measure or weight to men, give less than due. 3 Do they not think they will be raised (to life) again 4 [and called to account] on an awesome Day 5 The Day when (all) mankind will stand before the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists)? 6 Indeed, the record of the disbelievers is in the lowest place, the Sijjeen. 7 What could let you know what the Sijjeen is! 8 It is a (repository of) distinctly written record. 9 Woe, that Day, to those that deny- 10 Who call the Day of judgement a lie! 11 None belies it except every guilty sinner. 12 [and so,] whenever Our messages are conveyed to them, they but say: "Fables of ancient times!" 13 Nay! But on their hearts is the Ran (covering of sins and evil deeds) which they used to earn. 14 Therefore they will be screened off from their Lord that day, 15 and then they shall enter Hell, 16 whereafter they will be told: “This is what you used to give the lie to.” 17 But, the Book of the righteous is in the 'Illiyoon. 18 and what shall teach thee what is Illiyun? 19 A record [indelibly] inscribed, 20 Which is witnessed by those brought near [to Allah]. 21 Indeed, the righteous will be in pleasure 22 reclining on couches, reviewing (the bounties given to them). 23 You will recognise in their faces the brightness of delight. 24 as they are given to drink of a wine sealed 25 Its seal is upon musk; and for this should those who crave be eager. 26 It (that wine) will be mixed with Tasnim. 27 a fountain at which the chosen ones shall drink. 28 Verily those who have sinned were wont at those who had believed to laugh, 29 When passing by them, they would wink at one another 30 And when they returned to their own folk, they returned jesting; 31 and when they saw them said: 'These are they who are astray' 32 But they had not been sent as guardians over them. 33 On the Day of Judgment, the believers will laugh at the disbelievers 34 [for, resting in paradise] on couches, they will look on [and say to themselves]: 35 Have the unbelievers been rewarded for what they did? 36
