The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
By the heaven and the night-comer 1 What could let you know what the nightly comer is! 2 It is the star shining brightly. 3 There is no soul but that it has over it a protector. 4 LET MAN, then, observe out of what he has been created: 5 He is created of water pouring forth, 6 That issued from between the loins and ribs. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 By the heavens, ever-revolving, 11 by earth splitting with verdure, 12 BEHOLD, this [divine writ] is indeed a word that distinguishes between truth and falsehood, 13 It is no pleasantry. 14 They are hatching up a plot, 15 And I am planning a scheme. 16 So give a respite to the disbelievers. Deal you gently with them for a while. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
