Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the winds that scatter the dust, 1 And the clouds bearing a load. 2 And (the ships) that float with ease and gentleness; 3 And those [angels] apportioning [each] matter, 4 Lo! that wherewith ye are threatened is indeed true, 5 The Judgement will indeed take place. 6 And by oath of the decorated heaven. 7 Lo! ye, forsooth, are of various opinion (concerning the truth). 8 He is turned away from it who would be turned away. 9 Destroyed are the falsifiers 10 Who are careless in an abyss! 11 They ask, “When will be the Day of Judgement?” 12 On the Day of Judgment they will be punished by the fire 13 'Taste your trial! This is that you were seeking to hasten.' 14 The righteous shall live among gardens and fountains, 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 sleeping little in the night-time, 17 praying at dawn for God's pardon, 18 and [would assign] in all that they possessed a due share unto such as might ask [for help] and such as might suffer privation. 19 In the earth are signs for those having sure faith; 20 and also in your own selves. Do you not see? 21 And in heaven is your provision, and that you are promised. 22 So by oath of the Lord of the heavens and the earth, this Qur’an is the Truth, in the same language that you speak. 23
