The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the heaven, and At-Tariq (the night-comer, i.e. the bright star); 1 And have you understood what the nightly arriver is? 2 It is the piercing star. 3 Over every soul there is a watcher. 4 Let man reflect on what he was created from. 5 he was created of gushing water 6 issuing from between the loins [of man] and the pelvic arch [of woman]. 7 Verily, (Allah) is Able to bring him back (to life)! 8 The Day when secrets will be put on trial, 9 Then will (man) have no power, nor any helper. 10 I swear by the raingiving heavens, 11 And by oath of the earth which flourishes with it. 12 this (Qur'an) is surely a decisive Word, 13 And it is not a frivolity. 14 Indeed, they are planning a plan, 15 And I (too) am planning a plan. 16 Therefore give them some respite give them some time. 17
God Almighty has spoken the truth.
