When your Lord called upon Moses: "Go to the wicked people, 10 the people of Pharaoh, who refuse to be conscious of Me!" 11 'My Lord' he replied, 'I fear they will belie me 12 And that my breast will tighten and my tongue will not be fluent, so send for Aaron. 13 They also have a sin against me, and I fear they will slay me.' 14 God said, "Indeed not; go both of you with Our signs, We shall be with you, listening [to your call]. 15 "And when you both come to Fir'aun (Pharaoh), say: 'We are the Messengers of the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists), 16 (Saying): Let the Children of Israel go with us. 17 (Firon) said: Did we not bring you up as a child among us, and you tarried among us for (many) years of your life? 18 And you commited what you did, and you are ungrateful!" 19 Replied [Moses]: "I committed it while I was still going astray; 20 Then I fled from you when I feared you, and my Lord vouchsafed me a command and appointed me (of the number) of those sent (by Him). 21 And this is the past favour wherewith thou reproachest me: that thou hast enslaved the Children of Israel. 22 Pharaoh said, 'And what is the Lord of all Being?' 23 [Moses] answered: "[He is] the Sustainer of the heavens and the earth and all that is between them: if you would but [allow yourselves to] be convinced!" 24 Pharaoh said to those around him, "Did you hear?" 25 [Moses] said, "Your Lord and the Lord of your first forefathers." 26 (Pharaoh) said: Lo! your messenger who hath been sent unto you is indeed a madman! 27 He said: The Lord of the east and the west and what is between them, if you understand. 28 [Pharaoh] said, "If you take a god other than me, I will surely place you among those imprisoned." 29 and Moses asked, "Even if I show you a clear sign?" 30 Pharaoh said, "Show it then, if you are telling the truth!" 31 So Moosa put down his staff and it became a visible serpent. 32 and he drew forth his hand - and lo! it appeared [shining] white to the beholders. 33
