The Hidden Secret (Al-Muddath-thir)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
O you enveloped in your cloak! 1 Arise, and warn. 2 Thy Lord magnify, 3 cleanse your clothes, 4 Pollution shun! 5 and bestow not favour in order to seek from others a greater return, 6 For the sake of thy Lord, be patient! 7 When the Horn is blown, 8 Surely that day will be a day of anguish, 9 For the infidels, not easy. 10 Leave Me alone with he whom I created 11 and designated for him ample wealth, 12 And sons always present by his side, 13 And made (life) smooth for him. 14 Yet he desireth that I should give more. 15 By no means! surely he offers opposition to Our communications. 16 On him I shall impose a fearful doom. 17 Indeed he thought, and inwardly decided. 18 death seize him, how he determined! 19 Let him be destroyed. How he calculated! 20 May he be condemned again for his schemes! He looked around, 21 Then he frowned and scowled, 22 Then he turned back and was arrogant 23 And said, “This is nothing but magic learnt from earlier men.” 24 This is not but the word of a human being." 25 I will cast him into the fire of Hell. 26 And what can make you know what is Saqar? 27 It leaves naught nor does it spare aught. 28 Burning the skins! 29 Over it are nineteen (guards). 30 We have not appointed any one but angels as keepers of Hell, and their number that We have fixed is to make it a means of contention for disbelievers, so that those who were given the Book may be certain, and the faith of the believers may have greater increase, and the people of the Book and believers may not be deceived, and the sceptics and infidels may say: "What does God mean by this parable?" That is how God leads whosoever He will astray, and guides whosoever He will. None knows the armies of your Lord save Him self. This is no more than reminder for mankind. 31
