The Splitting (Al-Inshiqaaq)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the heaven breaks apart. 1 And it listens to the command of its Lord – and that befits it. 2 And when the earth is spread out 3 And shall cast forth that which is therein, and shall become empty. 4 and gives ear to its Lord, and is fitly disposed! 5 O man, indeed you have to surely run towards your Lord, and to meet him. 6 Whoever is given the Record in his right hand 7 shall have an easy reckoning 8 And will return to his family in joy! 9 And whoever is given his record of deeds behind his back – 10 He surely will invoke destruction 11 but he will enter the blazing flame. 12 He verily lived joyous with his folk, 13 and surely thought he would never return (to his Lord). 14 Yes indeed, his Lord was ever watching him. 15 So I swear by the afterglow of sunset; 16 And by the night and that which it driveth together, 17 And by oath of the moon when it is full. 18 you shall surely ride stage after stage. 19 So, what is the matter with them that they do not believe, 20 And when the Quran is recited to them, they fall not prostrate, ۩ 21 Instead, the unbelievers reject it, calling it a lie. 22 And Allah knows best what they hide, 23 So give them tidings of a painful doom, 24 unless it be such [of them] as [repent, and] attain to faith, and do good works; for theirs shall be a reward unending! 25
