۞ And to 'Ad (people, We sent) their brother Hud. He said: "O my people! Worship Allah! You have no other Ilah (God) but Him. (La ilaha ill-Allah: none has the right to be worshipped but Allah). Will you not fear (Allah)?" 65 Said the great ones among his people, who refused to acknowledge the truth: "Verily, we see that thou art weak-minded; and verily, we think that thou art a liar!" 66 'My nation, there is no foolishness in me' he replied. 'I am a Messenger of the Lord of the Worlds 67 I am conveying my Lord's messages to you and I am your sincere and honest adviser. 68 What! do you wonder that a reminder has come to you from your Lord through a man from among you that he might warn you? And remember when He made you successors after Nuh's people and increased you in excellence in respect of make; therefore remember the benefits of Allah, that you may be successful. 69 They answered: "Hast thou come to us [with the demand] that we worship God alone, and give up all that our forefathers were wont to worship? Bring about, then, that [punishment] with which thou hast threatened us, if thou art a man of truth!" 70 He said: "Punishment and wrath have already come upon you from your Lord: dispute ye with me over names which ye have devised - ye and your fathers,- without authority from Allah? then wait: I am amongst you, also waiting." 71 So We delivered him and those with him by mercy from Us, and We cut off the last of those who rejected Our communications and were not believers. 72
