The people of Al-Hijr denied Our apostles; 80 And we gave them Our revelations, but they were averse to them. 81 They hewed their dwellings out of the mountains in safety. 82 Then the Blast caught them in the morning 83 All that they had acquired was of no avail to them. 84 And We have not created the heaven and the earth and that which is in between them save with a purpose. And verily the Hour is surely coming; so overlook thou with a seemly overlooking, 85 For verily it is thy Lord who is the Master-Creator, knowing all things. 86 We have given thee seven of the oft-repeated, and the mighty Koran. 87 So covet not things We have bestowed on a portion of them to enjoy, and do not grieve for them, and protect those who believe; 88 and say, "I am, indeed, a plain warner," 89 Even as We sent down on the dividers 90 those who had split up their Qur'an into pieces. 91 so by your Lord, We will question them all 92 for whatever they have done! 93 So declare to them what We have enjoined, and turn away from idolaters. 94 Surely We suffice to deal with those who scoff at you, 95 and believe other things to be equal to God. They will soon know the truth. 96 We certainly know that you feel sad about what they say against you. 97 Proclaim thy Lord's praise, and be of those that bow, 98 and serve thy Lord, until the Certain comes to thee. 99
