And (as to) those who reject Our communications, We draw them near (to destruction) by degrees from whence they know not. 182 and I respite them -- assuredly My guile is sure. 183 Has it, then, never occurred to them that there is no madness whatever in [this] their fellowman? He is only a plain warner. 184 Do they not consider the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and whatever things Allah has created, and that may be their doom shall have drawn nigh; what announcement would they then believe in after this? 185 For those whom Allah lets go astray, there is no guide; and He will leave them in their transgression to stumble blindly. 186 They ask thee about the (final) Hour - when will be its appointed time? Say: "The knowledge thereof is with my Lord (alone): None but He can reveal as to when it will occur. Heavy were its burden through the heavens and the earth. Only, all of a sudden will it come to you." They ask thee as if thou Wert eager in search thereof: Say: "The knowledge thereof is with Allah (alone), but most men know not." 187 Say, “I have no autonomy to benefit or hurt myself, except what Allah wills; and were I to procure knowledge of the hidden on my own, it would be that I had accumulated a lot of good; and no misfortune would touch me; I am purely a Herald of Warning and Glad Tidings to the people who believe.” 188
