And verily it is a revelation of the Lord of the worlds. 192 The honest Spirit (Gabriel) brought it down 193 upon thy heart, [O Muhammad] so that thou mayest be among those who preach 194 In plain Arabic language. 195 Truly, it is in the Books of the ancients. 196 Is it not a sign to them that the learned scholars (like 'Abdullah bin Salam who embraced Islam) of the Children of Israel knew it (as true)? 197 And if We had revealed it unto one of any other nation than the Arabs, 198 who would have read it to them, they (pagans) would not have believed in it. 199 Even so We have caused it to enter into the hearts of the sinners, 200 They will not believe in it until they see the painful punishment. 201 It will come upon them suddenly when they are not expecting it. 202 Then will they say: "Can we be given respite?" 203 Do they want to hasten Our torment? 204 Therefore observe, that if We give them some comforts for some years, – 205 and then what they were promised comes to them, 206 (How) that wherewith they were contented naught availeth them? 207 And never did We destroy a township which did not have Heralds of warning, – 208 We have never been unjust to anyone. 209 No evil ones have brought down this (Revelation): 210 They are unworthy of it, nor can they do it. 211 Truly, they are expelled from hearing. 212 Therefore do not worship another deity along with Allah, for you will be punished. 213 And warn your nearest relations, 214 And lower thy wing (in kindness) unto those believers who follow thee. 215 If they disobey you, tell them, "I condemn your disobedient deeds". 216 and place thy trust in the Almighty, the Dispenser of Grace, 217 Who seeth thee when thou standest up 218 And your movement among those who prostrate. 219 Lo! He, only He, is the Hearer, the Knower. 220 [And] shall I tell you upon whom it is that those evil spirits descend? 221 They descend on every great accuser, extreme sinner. (The magicians) 222 They give ear, but most of them are liars. 223 As for poets, only the wayward follow them. 224 Do you not see that in every valley they roam 225 And that they say that which they do not do, 226 Save those that believe, and do righteous deeds, and remember God oft, and help themselves after being wronged; and those who do wrong shall surely know by what overturning they will be overturned. 227
