۞ Gather together those who were unjust and their associates, and what they used to worship 22 Beside Allah, and lead them on to the path of the Flaming Fire. 23 and detain them there; they will be called to account. 24 How is it that you are not helping one another? 25 Nay! on that day they shall be submissive. 26 And they will approach one another blaming each other. 27 They shall say: Surely you used to come to us from the right side. 28 They shall say: Nay, you (yourselves) were not believers; 29 And we had no authority over you, but you were an inordinate people; 30 So our Lord's Word is realised against us; we are tasting it. 31 "So we led you astray because we were ourselves astray." 32 So, they will become partners in punishment. 33 Certainly, that is how We deal with Al-Mujrimun (polytheists, sinners, criminals, the disobedient to Allah, etc.). 34 for when it was said to them, 'There is no god but God,' they were ever waxing proud, 35 and would say: "Shall we, then, give up our deities at the bidding of a mad poet?" 36 Nay! he has come with the (very) Truth, and he confirms (the Message of) the messengers (before him). 37 Lo! (now) verily ye taste the painful doom - 38 And be rewarded but only for what you had done, 39 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 40 For them is a known sustenance, 41 fruits of various kinds; and they shall be honoured, 42 in the Gardens of Bliss. 43 On couches facing one another; 44 Round shall be passed a cup unto them filled with limpid drink: 45 delicious to those who drink it 46 No bad effect is there in it, nor from it will they be intoxicated. 47 And with them will be mates of modest gaze, most beautiful of eye, 48 (Delicate and pure) as if they were (hidden) eggs (well) preserved. 49 They will go to one another asking each other questions. 50 A speaker among them will say, "Indeed, I had a companion [on earth] 51 who used to ask, 'Do you really believe that 52 What, when we are dead and become dust and bones, shall we indeed be requited?" 53 Allah will say: will ye look down? 54 And he will look and see him in the midst of the Hellfire. 55 He will say, "By Allah, you almost ruined me. 56 If not for the favor of my Lord, I would have been of those brought in [to Hell]. 57 “So are we never to die?” (The people of Paradise will ask the angels, with delight, after the announcement of everlasting life.) 58 “Except our earlier death, and nor will we be punished?” 59 Verily this! that is the supreme achievement. 60 For the like of it should the workers work. 61 Is that (Paradise) better entertainment or the tree of Zaqqum (a horrible tree in Hell)? 62 We have made this (tree) a trial for the evildoers. 63 For it is a tree that springs out of the bottom of Hell-Fire: 64 Its emerging fruit as if it was heads of the devils. 65 So indeed they will eat from it, and fill their bellies with it. 66 Then on top of that they will be given a mixture made of boiling water. 67 then their return is unto Hell. 68 They had found their fathers astray, 69 so they are rushing to follow in their footsteps. 70 Most of the ancient people had also gone astray. 71 And assuredly We sent among them warners. 72 See how terrible was the end of those who were warned. 73 Except the chosen slaves of Allah (faithful, obedient, and true believers of Islamic Monotheism). 74
