Have you heard the story of Abraham's honoured guests? 24 When they came to him and said, “Peace”; he answered, “Peace”; and thought, “These people are not familiar.” 25 Then he turned away privately unto his household, and brought a calf fatted. 26 And he set it before them, and said: wherefore eat ye not? 27 He therefore inwardly sensed fear of them; they said, “Do not fear!”; and they gave him the glad tidings of a knowledgeable son. 28 His wife came out lamenting, striking her forehead, and said: "I, am old and barren woman?" 29 "Such is the will of your Lord," they replied. "He is the Wise, the All Knowing." 30 ۞ Said he, 'And what is your business, envoys?' 31 They said, 'We have been sent to a people of sinners, 32 That we may send down upon them stones of baked clay. 33 Marked by thy Lord for (the destruction of) the wanton. 34 So We removed the people who had faith, from that town. 35 for apart from one [single] house We did not find there any who had surrendered themselves to Us. 36 We left a sign in this for those who fear the grievous punishment, 37 AND IN [the story of Pharaoh and] Moses, too, [We left the same message: for] when We sent him unto Pharaoh with [Our] manifest authority, 38 But he turned to his counsellors, and said: "He is a magician or lunatic." 39 So We took him and his soldiers and cast them into the sea, and he was blameworthy. 40 And [you have the same message] in [what happened to the tribe of] Ad, when We let loose against them that life-destroying wind 41 It left out nothing in its path, but which it split up into fragments. 42 And also in Thamood, when it was said to them, 'Take your enjoyment for a while!' 43 In response they rebelled against their Lord’s command, so the thunderbolt seized them whilst they were watching. 44 they could not stand up again, nor could they defend themselves. 45 The people of Noah who lived before them were also evil doing people. 46
