Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The Inevitable Reality - 1 What is the Inevitable Reality? 2 What do you comprehend by the concrete reality? 3 The tribes of Thamud and 'Ad denied that disaster would strike them: 4 Now as for the Thamud - they were destroyed by a violent upheaval [of the earth]; 5 And as for A’ad, they were destroyed by a severe thundering windstorm. 6 Which He sent to assail them for seven nights and eight days running. You should have seen the people prostrate like the decayed trunks of date-palm trees. 7 Do you see any trace of them? 8 Pharoah and those before him and the inhabitants of the overthrown cities persistently committed grave sins. 9 When they disobeyed the apostle of their Lord He seized them with an overwhelming punishment. 10 Verily! When the water rose beyond its limits [Nuh's (Noah) Flood], We carried you (mankind) in the floating [ship that was constructed by Nuh (Noah)]. 11 so that We might make it a reminder for you and so that attentive ears might retain it. 12 When the single blast is sounded on the trumpet, 13 when the earth with all its mountains is lifted up and crushed with a single blow, 14 on that Day, the Event occurs. 15 And the sky will be rent asunder, for on that Day it will be so frail. 16 The angels will stand on all its sides. And on that Day, eight (of them) will carry the Throne of your Lord above them. 17 On that Day you shall be brought to judgment: not [even] the most hidden of your deeds will remain hidden. 18 Then as for him who is given his book in his right hand, he shall say, 'Here, take and read my book! 19 Behold, I did know that [one day] I would have to face my account! 20 They will have a pleasant life 21 in a lofty garden, 22 Its [fruit] to be picked hanging near. 23 [They will be told], "Eat and drink in satisfaction for what you put forth in the days past." 24 However, those who will receive the books of the records of their deeds in their left hands will say, "We wish that this record had never been given to us 25 And had not known what is my account. 26 Oh, would that this [death of mine] had been the end of me! 27 "Of no profit to me has been my wealth! 28 and my authority has been destroyed' 29 Lay hold on him, then put a chain on him, 30 then cast him in the Fire, 31 And string him to a chain seventy cubits long. 32 for, behold, he did not believe in God, the Tremendous, 33 and he never urged the feeding of the needy; 34 therefore he today has not here one loyal friend, 35 Nor food other than suppuration (filth) 36 which none but the sinners eat!" 37
