Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ I do call to witness the Resurrection Day; 1 But nay! I call to witness the accusing voice of man's own conscience! 2 Thinketh man that We shall not assemble his bones? 3 Surely We are able to reform even his finger-tips. 4 Aye! man desireth that he may sin before him. 5 He questions: "When is the Day of Resurrection?" 6 So when the eyes will be blinded by light. 7 The moon eclipsed, 8 when the sun and the moon are brought together, 9 upon that day man shall say, 'Whither to flee?' 10 Never so, for there will be no escape. 11 For on that Day the refuge shall be to your Lord. 12 Man will be apprised, on that Day, of what he has done and what he has left undone: 13 Indeed, man shall be a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Stir not thy tongue herewith to hasten it. 16 We Ourself shall see to its collection and recital. 17 Wherefore when We recite it, follow thou the reciting thereof. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Yet you love this hasty world 20 And neglect the Hereafter. 21 [Some] faces, that Day, will be radiant, 22 and look forward to receiving mercy from their Lord. 23 and some faces on that Day will be gloomy, 24 thou mightest think the Calamity has been wreaked on them. 25 NAY, but when [the last breath] comes up to the throat [of a dying man,] 26 And it is said: Who will be a magician? 27 And he bethinketh that it is the time of parting. 28 And agony is heaped on agony; 29 That Day the Drive will be (all) to thy Lord! 30
