The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By the angels who drag forth vehemently. 1 And those who undo the bonds gently, 2 And by those who glide along (on errands of mercy), 3 Then those who are foremost going ahead, 4 And by those angels who arrange to do the Commands of their Lord, (so verily, you disbelievers will be called to account). 5 On the Day when a violent convulsion will convulse [the world], 6 and will be followed by the second one, 7 (Some) hearts that Day will shake with fear and anxiety. 8 Cast down will be (their owners') eyes. 9 They say: "Shall we go back to our original state 10 even after we are fragmented bones' 11 [And] they add, "That, then, would be a return with loss!" 12 However, it will only take a single blast 13 and then, lo, they will be fully awakened [to the truth]! 14 Hast thou received the story of Moses? 15 His Lord called to him in the Sacred Valley of Towa, 16 saying 'Go to Pharaoh, he has become exceedingly insolent, 17 Then say thou: wouldst thou to be purified? 18 ‘And I may guide you to your Lord, so that you may fear.’” 19 So Moosa showed him a magnificent sign. 20 but he denied it as false and disobeyed, 21 Then he quickly turned his back. 22 And assembled (his council) and proclaimed, 23 and said, "I am your Lord All-Highest!" 24 So God seized him for the punishment of the Hereafter and this world. 25 surely there is in this a lesson for the God-fearing. 26
