The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
WHEN THE SUN is folded up, 1 and when the stars lose their light, 2 when the mountains shall be set in motion, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 and when all beasts are gathered together, 5 And when the seas are set on fire, 6 souls are reunited with their bodies, 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was slain, 9 And when the Writs shall be lain open, 10 when the sky is unveiled, 11 and Hell is stoked, 12 And when the garden is brought nigh, 13 [on that Day] every human being will come to know what he has prepared [for himself]. 14 I swear by the receding stars. 15 the runners, the sinkers, 16 by the night swarming, 17 and the morn as it softly breathes: 18 behold, this [divine writ] is indeed the [inspired] word of a noble apostle, 19 The processor of strength, having an honorable place with the Lord of the Dominion, 20 who is obeyed there and is worthy of trust. 21 Your companion is not one possessed: 22 And he has already seen Gabriel in the clear horizon. 23 And Muhammad is not a withholder of [knowledge of] the unseen. 24 Nor is it the word of the cursed Shaitan, 25 Whither then go ye? 26 It is naught but a reminder for the nations, 27 for whosoever of you would go straight, 28 But ye shall not will except as Allah wills,- the Cherisher of the Worlds. 29
