The Night (Al-Layl)
21 verses, revealed in Mecca after The All High (Al-A'alaa) before Dawn (Al-Fajr)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By the night when it covers the day, 1 and by the day when it breaks in its glory, 2 and That which created the male and the female, 3 Certainly, your efforts and deeds are diverse (different in aims and purposes); 4 So he who gives (in charity) and fears (Allah), 5 and believes in the truth of the ultimate good 6 We will make smooth for him the path of ease (goodness). 7 But he who does not give and is unconcerned, 8 And disbelieveth in goodness; 9 Surely We will ease his way unto adversity. 10 When he falls (into Hell), his wealth will not help him. 11 Indeed, [incumbent] upon Us is guidance. 12 and to Us belong the hereafter and the worldly life. 13 Therefor have I warned you of the flaming Fire 14 None shall roast therein but the most wretched, 15 who rejected the Truth, calling it falsehood and turned his back on it. 16 The pious ones will be safe from this fire 17 Who gives away his wealth, purifying himself 18 And none hath with him any favour for reward, 19 seeking only the Face of his Lord, the Most High, 20 He verily will be content. 21
God the Almighty always says the truth.
