Messengers, eat what is wholesome and do good deeds: I am well aware of what you do. 51 And indeed this, your religion, is one religion, and I am your Lord, so fear Me." 52 But they (men) have broken their religion among them into sects, each group rejoicing in its belief. 53 (Muhammad), leave them alone in their dark ignorance for an appointed time. 54 Do they think that because We have granted them abundance of wealth and sons, 55 have no other purpose except to help them in acquiring material benefits? No indeed. But they do not understand. 56 Verily, [only] they who stand in reverent awe of their Sustainer, 57 And those who believe in the signs of their Lord – 58 And those who ascribe not partners unto their Lord, 59 And those who give what they give and their hearts fear for they have to return to their Lord. 60 It is those who hasten to good deeds, and they outstrip [others] therein. 61 We do not impose on any soul what is beyond its capacity. We have the Book which speaks the truth and no injustice will be done to it. 62 Nay, their hearts are in overwhelming ignorance with respect to it and they have besides this other deeds which they do. 63 So that when We seize the affluent among them with affliction, they will begin to implore for help. 64 Supplicate not this day! Assuredly ye will not be helped by Us. 65 “My verses were recited to you, so you used to turn back on your heels.” 66 in arrogance, as if you were abandoning a story-teller. 67 Pondered they not over the Word? or came there unto them that which came not unto their fathers ancient? 68 Or do they not recognise their Messenger, that they deny him? 69 or you said that he is possessed by satan? In fact, he has brought you the truth, but most of you dislike it. 70 Were the Truth to follow their desires, the order of the heavens and the earth and those who dwell in them would have been ruined. Nay, the fact is that We have brought to them their own remembrance; and yet it is from their own remembrance that they are turning away. 71 Or dost thou ask of them (O Muhammad) any tribute? But the bounty of thy Lord is better, for He is Best of all who make provision. 72 But verily thou callest them to the Straight Way; 73 But those who believe not in the Hereafter turn away from the straight path. 74 ۞ Did We have mercy on them, and remove the affliction that is upon them, they would persist in their insolence wandering blindly. 75 Already We have seized them with the punishment, but they neither humbled themselves to their Lord, nor did they beseech Him, 76 Until when We open upon them a door of severe chastisement, lo! they are in despair at it. 77
