And indeed Yunus is one of the Noble Messengers. 139 When he fled unto the laden ship, 140 He (agreed to) cast lots, and he was among the losers, 141 And a fish swallowed him, and he was reproaching himself. 142 And were he not one of those who praise. – 143 he would have lingered in its belly till the Day they are resurrected. 144 ۞ So We cast him, sick, on a barren shore, 145 And We caused a tree of gourd to grow above him; 146 Then We sent him to a hundred thousand or more, 147 And they believed, so We gave them provision till a time. 148 Then ask them whether your Lord has daughters and they have sons. 149 Or did We create the angels females while they were witnesses? 150 Is it not of their own calumny that they say, 151 That “Allah has offspring”; and indeed, surely, they are liars. 152 Has He chosen daughters over sons? 153 What ails you then, how you judge? 154 Then will you not be reminded? 155 Or do you have a clear authority? 156 Then bring your book, if ye say sooth. 157 They have set up a kinship between Him and the jinn; and the jinn know that they shall be arraigned. 158 Glory be to Allah (for freedom) from what they describe; 159 all of them except the chosen servants of Allah. 160 So neither you nor those you worship 161 You cannot make anyone rebel against Him. 162 Except one who is (destined) to burn in Hell. 163 (Those ranged in ranks say): "Not one of us but has a place appointed; 164 And indeed, we are those who line up [for prayer]. 165 And verily we! we hallow. 166 And they surely were wont to say: 167 'If only we had had a Reminder from the ancients, 168 we would surely have been Allah's chosen servants.” 169 Yet they disbelieve therein. Presently they shall come to know. 170 for, long ago has Our word gone forth unto Our servants, the message-bearers, 171 That they verily would be made triumphant. 172 And that Our forces,- they surely must conquer. 173 So turn thou away from them for a little while, 174 And (then) see them, so they too shall see. 175 Do they wish (indeed) to hurry on our Punishment? 176 But when it descends in their territory, then evil is the morning of those who were warned. 177 Withdraw from them awhile 178 and see; soon they shall see! 179 Glory be to your Lord: the Lord of Glory is far above what they attribute to Him. 180 And peace be on the apostles. 181 And Praise to Allah, the Lord and Cherisher of the Worlds. 182
