The Snatchers (Al-Naze'aat)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
By [the winds] that pluck out vehemently 1 by the angels who gently release the souls of the believers, 2 By the angels who glide swimmingly, 3 And then they speed with foremost speed. 4 And those who govern the event, 5 The Day when the quaking will cause a violent convulsion, 6 to be followed by further [convulsions]! 7 hearts will throb on that Day 8 while eyes will be downcast. 9 They say, "What? shall we be brought back to life, 10 "What! - when we shall have become rotten bones?" 11 They say: "It would in that case, be a return with loss!" 12 It will only be a single blast, 13 and they will be upon the surface of the earth (alive). 14 Have you heard the story of Moses? 15 when his Lord called him in the holy valley of Tuwa, 16 (Saying:) Go thou unto Pharaoh - Lo! he hath rebelled - 17 And say: 'Would you like to grow (in virtue)? 18 And that I guide you to your Lord, so you should fear Him? 19 And he showed him the tremendous token. 20 But (the Pharaoh) disavowed and disobeyed. 21 and then he turned back to have recourse to his craftiness, 22 Then he gathered and cried aloud, 23 And he said: I am your Lord, most high. 24 Allah therefore seized him, in the punishment of this world and the Hereafter. 25 Lo! herein is indeed a lesson for him who feareth. 26
