Al-Hummazah

The Backbiter (Al-Hummazah)

9 verses, revealed in Mecca after Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah) before Dispatched (Al-Mursalaat)

In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful

Woe unto every backbiter, slanderer, 1 who amasses wealth and counts it, 2 thinking that his wealth will make him live forever. 3 Never! He will certainly be thrown into the Crushing One. 4 And what could make thee conceive what that crushing torment will be? 5 It is a fierce fire created by God 6 Which mounteth up to the hearts. 7 Lo! it is closed in on them 8 in towering columns. 9

God Almighty has spoken the truth.
