It is He who sends down to you out of heaven water of which you have to drink, and of which trees, for you to pasture your herds, 10 And thereby He brings forth crops and olives, palms and vines, and all the fruits. Surely, in this there is a sign for a nation who think. 11 And He has made the night and the day and the sun and the moon subservient [to His laws, so that they be of use] to you; and all the stars are subservient to His command: in this, behold, there are messages indeed for people who use their reason! 12 And He hath subjected for you whatsoever He hath multiplied for you on the earth of various kinds. Verily therein is a sign for a people who receive admonition. 13 It is He who has subdued the sea that you may eat fresh meat from it, and obtain ornaments to wear. You see the ships plough through it that you may seek of His bounties and, perhaps, be grateful. 14 And He has placed firm mountains on the earth lest it should move away from you, and has made rivers and tracks that you may find your way, 15 And landmarks (too), and by the star they find a way. 16 Is then He, Who creates as one who creates not? Will you not then remember? 17 If you tried to count God's blessings, you would never be able to number them. God is ever forgiving and most merciful. 18 And Allah knows what you conceal and what you declare. 19 Those unto whom they cry beside Allah created naught, but are themselves created. 20 they are dead, not living, and they do not [even] know when they will be raised from the dead! 21
