T H (Taa Haa)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta. Ha. 1 We have not sent down the Qur'an to you that you should be burdened, 2 but only as an exhortation for him who fears God; 3 A down-sent from Him who Created the earth and the heavens high. 4 (Allah) Most Gracious is firmly established on the throne (of authority). 5 To Him only belongs all whatever is in the heavens and all whatever is in the earth, and all whatever is between them, and all whatever is beneath this wet soil. 6 Whether you speak out aloud (or in a low voice), He knows what is said secretly, and even that which is most hidden. 7 Allah! La ilahla illa Huwa (none has the right to be worshipped but He)! To Him belong the Best Names. 8 Has the story of Moses reached thee? 9 When he saw the fire, he said to his family, "Wait here for I can see a fire. Perhaps I shall bring you a burning torch or find a way to some fire". 10 And when he came to it (the fire), he was called by name: "O Musa (Moses)! 11 I am your Lord! Take off your sandals, for you are in the sacred valley of Tuwa. 12 "I have chosen thee: listen, then, to the inspiration (sent to thee). 13 Surely I am Allah, there is no god but I, therefore serve Me and keep up prayer for My remembrance: 14 Verily the Hour (of the great change) is about to come. I keep it secret that every soul may be rewarded for its endeavour. 15 So do not let those who do not believe in it and follow their vain desires, turn you away from it. 16 And what is that in thy right hand, O Musa! 17 He answered: "It is my staff; I lean on it; and with it I beat down leaves for my sheep; and [many] other uses have I for it." 18 Said He: "Throw it down, O Moses!" 19 So Moosa put it down – thereupon it became a fast moving serpent. 20 Then He said: "Seize it and have no fear. We shall restore it to its former state. 21 Now clasp thy hand to thy arm-pit; it shall come forth white, without evil. That is a second sign. 22 That We may show you [some] of Our greater signs. 23 Go to Pharaoh; he has transgressed all bounds." 24
