The dwellers of Al-Aiyka [near Madyan (Midian)] belied the Messengers. 176 Recall, when Shuayb said to them: "Have you no fear? 177 Indeed, I am to you a trustworthy messenger. 178 Have fear of God and obey me. 179 And I ask of you no hire therefor; and my hire is but with the Lord of the worlds. 180 ۞ “Measure in full, and do not be of those who reduce.” 181 Weigh with correct scales: 182 "And defraud not people by reducing their things, nor do evil, making corruption and mischief in the land. 183 So fear Him Who created you and the former generations. 184 They said: You are only of those deluded; 185 You are only a human being like ourselves. Indeed we think you are a liar. 186 So cause a piece of the sky to fall upon us if you are truthful." 187 He said, 'My Lord knows very well what you are doing.' 188 But they denied him, so there came on them the retribution of the day of gloom. Lo! it was the retribution of an awful day. 189 Surely, in that there is a sign; yet most of them do not believe. 190 And most surely your Lord is Mighty, the Merciful. 191
