And certainly We delivered the children of Israel from the abasing chastisement, 30 From Fir'awn; verily he was haughty and of the extravagant. 31 And We chose them, purposely, above (all) creatures. 32 And We gave them signs in which lay clear favours. 33 Yet those who deny the truth say, 34 There is naught but our first death, and we shall not be raised again. 35 Bring then our fathers if ye say so. 36 Are they better than the tribe of Tubba (name of a Yemenite tribal chief) and those who lived before them? We destroyed them. They were criminals. 37 We created not the heavens and earth, and all that between them is, in play; 38 We created them not save with truth; but most of them know not. 39 Assuredly the Day of Decision is the term for all of them, 40 the Day when no friend shall be of the least avail to his friend, and when none shall be succoured 41 Save him on whom Allah hath mercy. Lo! He is the Mighty, the Merciful. 42
