Incontestable (Al-Haaqqah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ The Inevitable Hour! 1 And what is that indubitable event? 2 Ah, what will convey unto thee what the reality is! 3 Thamood and Aad belied the Clatterer. 4 As for Thamud, they were destroyed by the lightning. 5 and the Ad were destroyed by a furiously raging wind-storm 6 Which Allah imposed on them for seven nights and eight days in succession, so that you could see men lying overthrown (destroyed), as if they were hollow trunks of date-palms! 7 Do you see any vestige left of them now? 8 Pharaoh likewise, and those before him, and the Subverted Cities -- they committed error, 9 They therefore disobeyed the Noble Messengers of their Lord – so He seized them with an intense seizure. 10 And when the waters rose (high) We carried you in the sailing (Ark), 11 that We might make it a reminder for you and for heeding ears to hold. 12 Then when the Horn is blown with one blast 13 And the earth and the mountains shall be borne and the twain shall be crushed with a single crash. 14 On that Day will come what is to come. 15 And the heaven will split asunder, for that day it will be frail. 16 The angels will appear by its sides and, on that Day, eight [angels] will bear your Lord's throne above them. 17 On that day you shall be exposed, not one secret of yours concealed. 18 So whoever is given his book in his right hand – he will say, “Take, read my account!” 19 Verily I was sure that I should be a meeter of my reckoning. 20 And he will be in a life of Bliss, 21 In a Garden lofty. 22 its fruits are near. 23 (It will be said): 'Eat and drink with a good appetite because of what you did in days long passed' 24 But as for him who will be given his Record in his left hand, will say: "I wish that I had not been given my Record! 25 and had not known my account. 26 “Alas, if only it had been just death.” 27 My wealth has not helped me a thing 28 I am bereft of power." 29 "Seize him and manacle him, 30 and then let him enter hell, 31 and then thrust him into a chain [of other sinners like him - a chain] the length whereof is seventy cubits: 32 Indeed, he did not use to believe in Allah, the Most Great, 33 and did not feel any urge to feed the needy: 34 “So he does not have any friend here this day.” 35 Nor any food except refuse, 36 "Which none do eat but those in sin." 37
