Resurrection (Al-Qeyaamah)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
۞ NAY! I call to witness the Day of Resurrection! 1 and by the self accusing soul (that you will certainly be resurrected). 2 Does man think that We shall not gather his bones? 3 Yea indeed, We are able to make whole his very finger-tips! 4 But man would fain deny what is before him. 5 asking, 'When shall be the Day of Resurrection?' 6 But when the sight is dazed 7 and the moon is eclipsed, 8 and the sun and moon are brought together, 9 people will say, "Is there anywhere to run away?" 10 By no means! there shall be no place of refuge! 11 With your Lord alone shall on that day be the place of rest. 12 On that day, man will be informed of all what he sent ahead and left behind. 13 In fact man is a witness against himself, 14 Though he may put forth his excuses (to cover his evil deeds). 15 Move not thy tongue therewith that thou mayest hasten therewith. 16 Surely it is for Us to have you commit it to memory and to recite it. 17 So, when We recite it, follow thou its recitation. 18 It's explanation is upon Us. 19 Nay; the truth is that you love ardently (the good of this world) that can be obtained hastily, 20 And leave alone the Hereafter. 21 On the Day of Judgment some faces will be bright, 22 Looking towards their Lord; 23 and some faces will on that Day be gloomy, 24 Knowing that they will be subjected to a torment that breaks the backs. 25 But, when (the soul) reaches the collar bone 26 And they will say, “Is there any one – any magician?” 27 and he thinks that it is the parting 28 and when leg is intertwined with leg, 29 To your Lord on that day shall be the driving. 30
