The Comet (Al-Taareq)
17 verses, revealed in Mecca after The Town (Al-Balad) before The Moon (Al-Qamar)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
By the heavens and that which comes in the night -- 1 And what could make thee conceive what it is that comes in the night? 2 The star of piercing brightness; 3 There is no living being but there is a protector over it. 4 So let man look - from what is he created. 5 He was created from ejaculated water 6 That is issued from between the backs and the ribs. 7 Most surely He is able to return him (to life). 8 On the day when hidden thoughts shall be searched out. 9 he shall have no power, and no helper. 10 By the sky which returns [rain] 11 and the earth, bursting forth with plants! 12 Verily! This (the Quran) is the Word that separates (the truth from falsehood, and commands strict legal laws for mankind to cut the roots of evil). 13 And it is not amusement. 14 Indeed the disbelievers carry out their evil schemes. 15 and I am cunningly devising. 16 Therefore grant a delay to the Unbelievers: Give respite to them gently (for awhile). 17
God the Almighty always says the truth.
