The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
۞ Successful indeed are the believers. 1 Who are humble in their prayers, 2 those who turn away from all that is frivolous; 3 And who are payers of the poor-due; 4 Who guard their sex 5 Except before their mates or those whom their right hands possess, for they surely are not blameable, 6 But whoso craveth beyond that, such are transgressors - 7 And those who are keepers of their trusts and their covenant, 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 It is they, they who shall be the inheritors 10 Who will inherit Paradise: they will dwell therein (for ever). 11 And certainly did We create man from an extract of clay. 12 Then We placed him as a sperm-drop in a firm lodging. 13 Then We made the sperm-drop into a clinging clot, and We made the clot into a lump [of flesh], and We made [from] the lump, bones, and We covered the bones with flesh; then We developed him into another creation. So blessed is Allah, the best of creators. 14 Then after that you shall surely die, 15 and then, behold! you shall be raised from the dead on Resurrection Day. 16 We have created seven paths above you; We have never been unmindful of Our creation. 17 We sent down water from the sky in due measure and lodged it in the earth, but if We please, We have the power to take it away, 18 Then We brought forth for you therewith gardens of date-palm and vines; for you therein are fruits many, and thereof ye eat. 19 And a tree (olive) that springs forth from Mount Sinai, that grows oil, and (it is a) relish for the eaters. 20 And in cattle (too) ye have an instructive example: from within their bodies We produce (milk) for you to drink; there are, in them, (besides), numerous (other) benefits for you; and of their (meat) ye eat; 21 And on them, as well as in ships, ye ride. 22
