T H (Taa Haa)
Allah - beginning with the name of - the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
۞ Ta-Ha. 1 We have not revealed the Quran to you that you may be unsuccessful. 2 Nay, it is a reminder to him who fears: 3 A revelation from Him Who created the earth and the high heavens. 4 the All-compassionate sat Himself upon the Throne; to Him belongs 5 His is whatsoever is in the heavens and whatsoever on the earth and whatsoever is in between and whatsoever is underneath the earth. 6 If thou pronounce the word aloud, (it is no matter): for verily He knoweth what is secret and what is yet more hidden. 7 God -- there is no god but He. To Him belong the Names Most Beautiful. 8 Have you heard the story of Moses? 9 When he saw a fire, he said to his family: "Wait! Verily, I have seen a fire, perhaps I can bring you some burning brand therefrom, or find some guidance at the fire." 10 And when he reached it, he was called by name: O Moses! 11 "O Moses, I am verily your Lord, so take off your shoes, for you are in the holy plain of Towa. 12 I have chosen you as My Messengers. Listen to the revelation. 13 I am God, and there is no god but I, so serve Me, and observe acts of prayer to remember Me. 14 "Verily, the Hour is coming and My Will is to keep it hidden that every person may be rewarded for that which he strives. 15 Hence, let not anyone who does not believe in its coming and follows [but] his own desires divert thee from [belief in] it, lest thou perish! 16 "And what is that in your right hand, O Musa (Moses)?" 17 He replied, "It is my staff. I lean on it, and with it, I beat down the leaves for my flock; I also have other uses for it." 18 God said, "Moses, cast it down." 19 So he threw it down, and lo, it became a running serpent. 20 He said, “Pick it up and do not fear; We shall restore it to its former state.” 21 And place your hand in your armpit, it will come forth shining white, without blemish. This is another Sign of Allah, 22 That We may shew thee of Our Signs the greatest. 23 “Go to Firaun, he has rebelled.” 24
