▼ 55 The All Compassionate
Al-Rahman 3 of 3
BUT FOR THOSE who of their Sustainer's Presence stand in fear, two gardens [of paradise are readied] 46 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 47 full of various trees. 48 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny?- 49 In both of them are two fountains flowing. 50 Which then of the bounties of your Lord will you deny? 51 In which will be of every fruit two kinds. 52 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 53 reclining upon couches lined with brocade, the fruits of the gardens nigh to gather -- 54 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 55 Wherein both will be those (maidens) restraining their glances upon their husbands, whom no man or jinn yatmithhunna (has opened their hymens with sexual intercourse) before them. 56 Which, then, of the benefits of your Lord will ye twain belie? 57 Like unto Rubies and coral. 58 Which is it, of the favours of your Lord, that ye deny? 59 Is the reward for good [anything] but good? 60 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 61 And beside them are two other gardens, 62 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 63 two [gardens] of the deepest green. 64 O which of your Lord's bounties will you and you deny? 65 Wherein are two abundant springs. 66 How many favours of your Lord will then both of you deny? -- 67 In them will be Fruits, and dates and pomegranates: 68 Then which of the favours of your Lord will ye deny? 69 There will be well-disciplined, beautiful maidens. 70 So which of the favors of your Lord would you deny? - 71 Fair ones, confined in tents. 72 Which of the favours of your Lord will you twain – you men and jinn – then deny? 73 There hath deflowered them neither man nor jinn. 74 Which, then, of your Sustainer's powers can you disavow? 75 They will be reclining on plain green and beautifully printed cushions 76 Then which of the Blessings of your Lord will you both (jinns and men) deny? 77 Blessed be the name of your Lord, full of majesty and beneficience. 78
