S (Saad)
In the name of Allah, the Beneficent, the Merciful
Saad* – By oath of the renowned Qur’an, (Alphabet of the Arabic language; Allah and to whomever He reveals, know their precise meanings.) 1 Nay! those who disbelieve are in self-exaltation and opposition. 2 How many generations have We destroyed before them who cried (for mercy) when it was too late for escape. 3 They are surprised that a warner should come to them from among themselves. They say, "This is a magician, a great liar. 4 Does he claim that all the deities are [but] one God? Verily, a most strange thing is this!" 5 And the eminent among them went forth, [saying], "Continue, and be patient over [the defense of] your gods. Indeed, this is a thing intended. 6 “We never heard of this even in Christianity, the latest religion; this is clearly a newly fabricated matter.” 7 Hath unto him the admonition been sent down from amongst us! Yea! they are in doubt concerning My admonition. Yea! they have not yet tasted My torment. 8 Or have they the treasures of the mercy of thy Lord,- the Exalted in Power, the Grantor of Bounties without measure? 9 Or is the kingdom of the heavens and the earth and all that lies between them, theirs? Then let them climb up the ladders (to the heavens). 10 The army is defeated as (were) the confederates. 11 Before them there have belied the people of Nuh and the 'Aad, and Fir'awn the owner of the stakes. 12 Thamood, the nation of Lot and the dwellers of the Thicket such were the confederates. 13 Not one of them but did deny the messengers, therefor My doom was justified, 14
