Drivers of the Winds (Al-Dhaareyaat)
In the name of God, the Most Gracious, the Most Merciful
By those that winnow with a winnowing 1 and those that bear the burden [of the rain], 2 And those who move (on the water) gently, 3 then by the distributors (angels), ordered; 4 Verily, that which you are promised (i.e. Resurrection in the Hereafter and receiving the reward or punishment of good or bad deeds, etc.) is surely true. 5 and, verily, judgment is bound to come! 6 By the beautiful heavens, 7 Verily, [O men,] you are deeply at variance as to what to believe: 8 Let whoever wishes, turn away from Our Quran. 9 They but destroy themselves, they who are given to guessing at what they cannot ascertain 10 Those who (flounder) heedless in a flood of confusion: 11 They ask, "When is the Day of Recompense?" 12 (It will be) a Day when they will be tried (i.e. burnt) over the Fire! 13 and will be told, "Suffer the torment which you wanted to experience immediately". 14 Indeed the pious are among Gardens and water springs. 15 joyously receiving what their Lord will have granted them. Verily they did good works before (the coming of this Day): 16 They slept but a little at night, 17 and would ask for forgiveness at dawn, 18 And the beggar and the destitute had a share in their wealth. 19 AND ON EARTH there are signs [of God's existence, visible] to all who are endowed with inner certainty, 20 And in your own selves; so can you not perceive? 21 In the sky is your provision and that which you are promised. 22 By the Lord of the heaven and the earth, it is certainly the truth. It is as true as your ability to speak. 23
