The Believers (Al-Mu' minoon)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ The believers must (eventually) win through,- 1 those who are humble in their prayer; 2 who avoid whatever is vain and frivolous; 3 Who strive for betterment; 4 And who guard their private organs. 5 save from their wives and what their right hands own then being not blameworthy 6 Those who seek beyond that are transgressors. 7 Those who faithfully observe their trusts and their covenants; 8 and who guard their prayers [from all worldly intent]. 9 Those are the inheritors 10 Who shall inherit the Paradise; they shall abide therein. 11 We have created the human being from an extract of clay 12 Then We placed him as (a drop of) sperm in a place of rest, firmly fixed; 13 Then We made the Nutfah into a clot (a piece of thick coagulated blood), then We made the clot into a little lump of flesh, then We made out of that little lump of flesh bones, then We clothed the bones with flesh, and then We brought it forth as another creation. So blessed be Allah, the Best of creators. 14 And then you will certainly die, 15 Again, on the Day of Judgment, will ye be raised up. 16 And We created above you seven ways, and We were not heedless of creation. 17 We have sent a measure of water from the sky to stay on earth and We have the power to take it away. 18 Then We produced for you therewith gardens of palms and vines wherein are many fruits for you, and of them you eat, 19 as well as a tree that issues from [the lands adjoining] Mount Sinai, yielding oil and relish for all to eat. 20 And indeed there is also a lesson for you in cattle. We provide you with drink out of what they have in their bellies; and you have many other benefits in them: you eat of them, 21 and are carried on them and also on ships. 22
