Y S (Yaa Seen)
In the Name of God, the Merciful, the Compassionate
Ya-Sin. [These letters are one of the miracles of the Quran, and none but Allah (Alone) knows their meanings.] 1 By the Wise Koran, 2 That you are indeed one of those sent 3 On a path that is straight, -- 4 A revelation of the Mighty, the Merciful. 5 So that you may warn these people whose ancestors were not warned, they are therefore unaware. 6 The Phrase has become obligatory upon most of them, yet they do not believe. 7 Verily We have placed on their necks shackles which are up to the chins; so that their heads are forced up. 8 And We have placed before them a barrier and behind them a barrier, so We have covered them, so that they see not. 9 And it is alike unto them, whether thou warnest them or warnest them not; they shall not believe. 10 Thou only warnest him who follows the Remembrance and who fears the All-merciful in the Unseen; so give him the good tidings of forgiveness and a generous wage. 11 Surely it is We who bring the dead to life and write down what they have forwarded and what they have left behind; everything We have numbered in a clear register. 12
