And We did certainly confer favor upon Moses and Aaron. 114 and We saved them and their people from the awesome calamity [of bondage,] 115 and succoured them, so that [in the end] it was they who achieved victory. 116 and We gave them the Manifesting Book, 117 And showed them the right path. 118 And We left for them [favorable mention] among later generations: 119 "Peace and salutation to Moses and Aaron!" 120 Verily We! thus We recompense the well-doers. 121 Indeed, they were of Our believing servants. 122 And Ilyas was most surely of the apostles. 123 When he said to his people, “Do you not fear?” 124 Do you call upon Baal and forsake the Best of the Creators? 125 Allah, your Lord and the Lord of your fathers of yore? 126 But they gave him the lie: and therefore they will most surely be arraigned [on Judgment Day,] 127 Except the chosen bondmen of Allah. 128 And We left for him [favorable mention] among later generations: 129 "Peace be upon Elijah and his followers!" 130 Thus indeed do We reward those who do right. 131 He is truly among Our faithful devotees. 132 Verily Lot was one of the apostles, 133 when We delivered him and his people all together, 134 except an old woman who lingered, 135 then We destroyed the others, 136 and, verily, [to this day] you pass by the remnants of their dwellings at morning-time 137 and at night, will you not understand? 138

When reading the Colorful Quran in English transliterated Arabic mode, you may not notice that there is an algorithm designed to match the pause requirements of the original Arabic scripture, (waqf signs). As you may know, the original Arabic Quran has five main types of pauses, (waqf) signs. (1) Compulsory break, where the transliteration uses a full stop. (2) Optional pause with the preference for pausing, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a probability of two thirds. (3) Optional stop with an equal preference for pausing and resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a half-half probability. (4) Optional pause with the preference for resuming, where the transliteration uses a comma that may appear with a chance of one third. (5) Attraction pause, also called hugging, or (mu’anaka) sign, where it is compulsory to pause at either one of two nearby positions, but not both; where the transliteration inserts a comma at either one of the two locations with a half-half probability.
