(Muhammad), have you ever seen the one who has turned away (from guidance), 33 And gave a little, then stopped (giving)? 34 Is with him knowledge of the unseen so that he seeth? 35 Or has he not been informed of what was in the scriptures of Moses 36 and Abraham, he who paid his debt in full? 37 That no laden one shall bear another's load, 38 And that man shall have nothing but what he strives for- 39 And that his striving shall soon be seen- 40 whereupon he shall be requited for it with the fullest requital; 41 And that to your Lord is the goal- 42 It is He who causes laughter and weeping. 43 It is He who causes death and gives life. 44 and that it is He who created pairs, the male and the female, 45 From a sperm-drop when it is emitted 46 and that [therefore] it is within His power to bring about a second life; 47 It is He who grants people temporary and durable wealth. 48 and that He is the Lord of (the star) Sirius, 49 And that it is He (Allah) Who destroyed the former 'Ad (people), 50 And that Thamud! He left not. 51 And the folk of Noah aforetime, Lo! they were more unjust and more rebellious; 52 just as He thrust into perdition those cities that were overthrown 53 And covered them by that which He covered. 54 So which then of your Lord's favors do you dispute? 55 He (Prophet Mohammed – peace and blessings be upon him) is a Herald of Warning, like the former Heralds of Warning. 56 The threatened Hour is nigh. 57 None but God can avert it. 58 Do you then find these tidings strange? 59 And you laugh, and do not weep! 60 And ye are behaving proudly. 61 But fall ye down in prostration to Allah, and adore (Him)! ۩ 62
