Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, Most Gracious, Most Merciful
Hast thou received the story of the Enveloper? 1 Some faces, that Day, will be humiliated, 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 They shall roast into the scalding Fire, 4 Made to drink from a boiling spring. 5 no food for them but cactus thorn 6 unfattening, unappeasing hunger. 7 Many a face will be in serenity on that day. 8 and pleased with the result of their deeds in the past. 9 In a lofty garden, 10 Where they shall hear no (word) of vanity: 11 Therein will be a running spring, 12 And within it are couches placed on high, 13 And chosen goblets. 14 cushions ranged, 15 and well spread carpets. 16 Do they not look at the Camels, how they are made?- 17 And the heaven, how it is reared aloft, 18 and on the mountains, how they are firmly set up, 19 And the earth, how it is made a vast expanse? 20 Therefore remind, you are only a Reminder. 21 You are not a warden over them, 22 But whoever turns back and denies the truth, 23 him will God cause to suffer the greatest suffering [in the life to come]: 24 Certainly, it is to Us that they will return. 25 Then it will be for Us to call them to account. 26
