The Bee (Al-nahl)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ The decree of God is at hand, so do not seek to hasten it. Holy is He, and exalted far above what they associate with Him. 1 He sends down the angels with inspiration of His Command to whom of His slaves He pleases (saying): "Warn mankind that La ilaha illa Ana (none has the right to be worshipped but I), so fear Me (by abstaining from sins and evil deeds). 2 He has created the heavens and the earth for a genuine purpose. He is too Exalted to be considered equal to anything else. 3 He creates man out of a [mere] drop of sperm: and lo! this same being shows himself endowed with the power to think and to argue! 4 And the cattle hath He created, whence ye have warm clothing and uses, and whereof ye eat; 5 And you find beauty in them as you drive them to pasture in the morning and as you drive them back home in the evening; 6 They carry your loads to a land which you could not otherwise reach except by painful toil to oneself. Your Lord is the Clement, the Most Merciful. 7 And He hath created horses and mules and asses that ye may ride there on, and as an adornment; and He createth that which ye know not. 8 And [because He is your Creator,] it rests with God alone to show you the right path: yet there is [many a one] who swerves from it. However, had He so willed, He would have guided you all aright. 9
