The prople of Lout (Lot) (those dwelt in the towns of Sodom in Palestine) belied the Messengers. 160 When their brother Lot said to them: 'Will you not be cautious? 161 Surely I am a faithful apostle to you; 162 So fear Allah, and obey me. 163 "No reward do I ask of you for it: my reward is only from the lord of the Worlds. 164 What, do you come to the males of the world, 165 leaving aside those whom Allah has created for you as your mates. Nay, you are a people that has transgressed all limits." 166 They said: "O Lot! If you do not desist, you will be one of those expelled (from our towns)." 167 (Lot) said: "I am disgusted with your actions," 168 My Lord! Save me and my household from what they do. 169 We therefore rescued him and his entire family. 170 Save an old woman among those who stayed behind. 171 Then We destroyed the rest of them, 172 And We rained down upon them a rain, and evil was the rain on those warned. 173 In this [story,] behold, there is a message [unto men,] even though most of them will not believe [in it]. 174 Yet surely your Lord is mighty and powerful. 175
