No, by the moon! 32 And the night when it withdraweth 33 And by oath of the morning, when it spreads light. 34 surely (Hell) is one of the greatest Signs, 35 As a warning unto men, 36 Unto him of you who will advance or hang back. 37 Every soul is pledged to what it does, 38 save the People of the Right Hand 39 In Gardens (Paradise) they will ask one another, 40 And (ask) of the Sinners: 41 What hath brought you to this burning? 42 They will say: we have not been of those who prayed. 43 and we did not feed the poor, 44 We used to wade (in vain dispute) with (all) waders, 45 And we used to call the day of judgment a lie; 46 Until the certainty (of death) had come upon us. 47 So no intercession of intercessors will be of any use to them. 48 What is then the matter with them, that they turn away from the admonition 49 As if they were affrighted asses, 50 Fleeing from a lion? 51 Nay, every man of them desires to be -- given -- scrolls unrolled. 52 Never! In fact they do not fear the Hereafter. 53 Never so, as this is a reminder. 54 So whosoever will may heed. 55 And they shall not heed unless Allah willeth. He is the Lord of piety, and the Lord of forgiveness. 56
