Overwhelming (Al-Ghaasheyah)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
Hath there come unto thee the story of the Enveloping Event? 1 Many a face will be disgraced on that day. 2 Working [hard] and exhausted. 3 roasting at a scorching fire, 4 and will be made to drink from a boiling spring, 5 No food for them save the bitterness of dry thorns, 6 which gives no strength and neither stills hunger. 7 In that day other faces will be calm, 8 Glad with their endeavour (for their good deeds which they did in this world, along with the true Faith of Islamic Monotheism). 9 in a sublime garden, 10 Where they shall neither hear harmful speech nor falsehood, 11 There is a stream of running water in it; 12 In which are high thrones. 13 And drinking-cups ready placed, 14 and cushions arrayed in rows, 15 And silken carpets spread. 16 Then do they not look at the camels - how they are created? 17 And the heaven, how it is raised? 18 And the mountains, how they are firmly fixed, 19 And the earth – how it has been spread out? 20 Remind them; you are surely a reminder. 21 Thou art not over them a warden. 22 However, as for him who turns away, being bent on denying the truth, 23 Allah will chastise him with the greatest chastisement. 24 Surely to Us is their return; 25 Ours is surely then to reckon with them. 26
