The Mountain (Al-Toor)
In the name of Allah, most benevolent, ever-merciful
By the mount. 1 And by the Book Inscribed. 2 In an outstretched fine parchment, 3 By the much-frequented Fane; 4 And [by] the heaven raised high 5 And by the sea kept filled (or it will be fire kindled on the Day of Resurrection). 6 surely thy Lord's chastisement is about to fall; 7 there is none who could avert it. 8 Upon the day when heaven spins dizzily 9 And the mountains will fly hither and thither. 10 So woe on that day to those who reject (the truth), 11 Who are in [empty] discourse amusing themselves. 12 on that Day they shall be ruthlessly thrust into the Fire of Hell. 13 (it will be said to them): 'This is the Fire which you belied! 14 Is this magic? or ye still see not clearly! 15 “Enter it – now whether you patiently bear it or are impatient – it is the same for you; for you is a recompense only for what you used to do.” 16 Truly, the God-fearing will dwell [on that Day] in gardens and in bliss, 17 Rejoicing at what their Lord has given them; and their Lord will preserve them from the torment of Hell. 18 'Eat and drink, with wholesome appetite, for that you were working. 19 Reclining on thrones, in rows; and We have wedded them to maidens with gorgeous eyes. 20 Those who believe, and whose descendants follow in belief, We will join their descendants to them. And We will not reduce them of anything of their deeds. Every one is pledged for what he has earned. 21 And We shall increasingly give them fruit and meat such as they desire. 22 They will exchange with one another a cup [of wine] wherein [results] no ill speech or commission of sin. 23 ۞ Round about them will serve, (devoted) to them, young male servants (handsome) as Pearls well-guarded. 24 They will ask each other questions, 25 Saying: "We were also once full of fear at home. 26 But Allah hath been gracious unto us and hath preserved us from the torment of the breath of Fire. 27 We used to pray to Him erstwhile; He is the just and merciful. 28
