The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of Allah, the Merciful, the Compassionate
۞ When the Occurrence occurs, 1 Which is bound to happen undoubtedly -- 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 when the earth shall be rocked 4 And the mountains will be crushed, blown to bits. 5 So that they become a scattered dust, 6 And you shall be three sorts. 7 The people of the right hand - those whose books of records will be placed in their right hands. How happy they will be! 8 And the Companions of the Left Hand,- what will be the Companions of the Left Hand? 9 The foremost ones (in faith and virtue) - the foremost ones in receiving their reward. 10 those are they brought near (to their Lord) 11 They will dwell in the Gardens of Bliss: 12 A multitude of those of old 13 and a few from later times. 14 On thrones decorated, 15 facing one another. 16 They will be served by immortal boys, 17 With bowls and ewers and a cup from a pure spring 18 by which their minds will not be clouded and which will not make them drunk; 19 they will also go about them with the fruits of which they may choose, 20 And the flesh of fowl such as they desire. 21 And (there will be) Houris (fair females) with wide, lovely eyes (as wives for the pious), 22 The likes unto pearls hidden. 23 The reward for what they did. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 Only the saying, "Peace! Peace". 26 As for those of the right hand -- how (happy) those of the right hand -- 27 They shall be in the midst of thornless lote trees, 28 Bananatrees, piled 29 and shade extended, 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and abundant fruits, 32 Neither ending nor forbidden. 33 And on Thrones (of Dignity), raised high. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 and We made them spotless virgins, 36 Loving, of equal age. 37 All this will be for the People on the Right; 38
