The Rolling (Al-Takweer)
In the Name of Allah, the Most Beneficent, the Most Merciful
When the sun shall be wound round, 1 And when the stars shall dart down, 2 and when the mountains are moved, 3 the young barren camels are abandoned, 4 the wild beasts are herded together, 5 And when the seas are filled with flame 6 And when the souls shall be joined with their bodies; 7 And the little girl buried alive is asked 8 For what sin she was killed? 9 And when the Records of Account are laid bare. 10 And when the heaven shall be stripped off and taken away from its place; 11 When Hell is set ablaze, 12 when Paradise shall be brought nigh, 13 (Then) every person will know what he has brought (of good and evil). 14 I swear by the receding stars, 15 Moving swiftly and hiding themselves, 16 And by the night as it closes in 17 And by oath of the morning when it takes birth. 18 Verily, this is the Word (this Quran brought by) a most honourable messenger [Jibrael (Gabriel), from Allah to the Prophet Muhammad (Peace be upon him)]. 19 Endued with Power, with rank before the Lord of the Throne, 20 With authority there, (and) faithful to his trust. 21 And your companion is not gone mad. 22 in truth he saw him (Gabriel) on the clear horizon, 23 nor does he grudge (conveying this knowledge about) the Unseen; 24 And the Qur'an is not the word of a devil, expelled [from the heavens]. 25 Whither, then, will you go? 26 This [message] is no less than a reminder to all mankind 27 to everyone of you who wills to walk a straight way. 28 And you will not, unless (it be) that Allah wills, the Lord of the 'Alamin (mankind, jinns and all that exists). 29
