The Inevitable (Al-Waaqe'ah)
In the name of God, The Most Gracious, The Dispenser of Grace
۞ When the event befalleth - 1 Then none will be able to deny its occurrence. 2 (it will) abase (some) and exalt (others). 3 When the earth is shaken with convulsion 4 And the mountains are crumbled, crumbled. 5 And become dust dispersing. 6 You will become three categories: 7 Then (as to) the companions of the right hand; how happy are the companions of the right hand! 8 And those on the left hand; how miserable shall those on the left hand be! 9 and the Outstrippers: the Outstrippers 10 those are they brought nigh the Throne, 11 In Gardens of Bliss: 12 A large group from the earlier generations. 13 And a few of those (foremost) will be from the later time (generations). 14 On studded thrones. 15 Reclining on them, facing each other. 16 There shall go round unto them youths ever-young. 17 With vessels, pitchers and a cup [of wine] from a flowing spring - 18 No headache will they have therefrom, nor will they be intoxicated - 19 And fruits such as they choose, 20 and the flesh of birds, as they desire. 21 And wide eyed houris 22 Like unto preserved pearls. 23 A reward for what they used to do. 24 There they shall hear no idle talk nor any sinful speech. 25 only the words of peace and tranquillity. 26 Those on the Right, how fortunate are those on the Right! 27 Among thornless lote-trees 28 And acacia covered with heaps of bloom, 29 and spreading shade 30 and outpoured waters, 31 and fruit abounding, 32 never-failing and never out of reach. 33 And carpets raised. 34 Indeed We formed them (the houris and all believing women), 35 And made them virginal, 36 Beloved (by nature), equal in age,- 37 with those who have attained to righteousness: 38
